It’s been a long standing conversation here at Thrive…..but the time is now! I’m super excited to invite you to come along and join our Thrive WhatsApp community.
This group is for like-minded professionals working in the QCTO and broader Seta space. Over time we’ll create various groups for supportive, facilitated, no-fluff conversations and QCTO support. But we’ll start with an Announcements Group only and as always, you can opt-out at any time.
I promise we won’t bombard you. Only relevant, valuable, just-in-time QCTO info titbits, gazettes and learnings. You’ll also be the first to know about any Thrive goings-on.

QCTO & SETA NEWS
QCTO: The Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO) has communicated an important update regarding the approved list of extended legacy qualifications, who’s last date for enrolment is now June 2026. Click here to view the AgriSeta extended qualifications and check the SAQA website to check for yours specifically.
All SETAs: A blanket extension has been granted for 2025 WSP Mandatory Grant applications — the new deadline is now the end of May 2025. If you haven’t submitted yet, there’s still time to get yours in. Here is the most recent Gazette.
FASSET: Fasset is excited to introduce you to two powerful digital platforms, The Atang Mobile App and the web-based Career Portal. The platforms are designed specifically to connect young people with opportunities available at the Seta. The portal is available here.
CHE: Here is the CHE’s latest publication titled – Changing Trends in the Size and Shape of Postgraduate Programmes in the Public Higher Education System in South Africa.
DCDT: In case you missed it: here is the National Digital and Future Skills Strategy white paper from August 2020….I thought it made for interesting reading in 2025.
MICT SETA: are delighted to share that these QCTO qualifications are now official DHET registered learnerships – these can be seen on the QCTO website too: https://www.qcto.org.za/learnerships.html
ETDP Seta: Here is the Quarterly Accreditation Cyclic Accreditation Schedule with some details about QCTO accreditation applications (covering the qualifications for which they are the AQP), training schedules and EISA’s.

SASSETA: is inviting accredited Private and Public Skills Development Providers (SDP’s) for the opening of the 1st Discretionary Grant Funding Window of the 2025/2026 financial year. Click here for more information. Closing Date: 30 May 2025.
