High level understanding of the QCTO environment and what an SDP should have in place for the successful rollout of Skills programmes and Occupational Qualifications/Part Qualifications.

Understanding the QCTO environment:

• Exploring the NQF, SAQA, QCTO, and Seta roles and functions;
• Understanding your QCTO report;

Unpacking terminology:

• Skills programme, Occupational Qualification, Part Qualification;
• Skills Programme Document, Curriculum, Assessment Specification Document;
• Internal assessment, Continues assessment, Formative assessment, Summative assessment, FISA and EISA.

Connecting the Curriculum to Practice:

• Understanding the requirements set out for Qualifications & Skills Programmes;
• Analysing the components of Knowledge, Practical, and Workplace Modules;

The role of SMEs/ETD Practitioners

• Reviewing the responsibilities of facilitators, assessors, moderators, mentors and invigilators in the learning process;
• QCTO requirements vs best practice.

Rollout of Skills Programmes and Occupational Qualifications

• A- Z: Learner registration to Reporting to the QCTO;
• Understanding FISAs and EISAs;
• Requirements of the SOR;
• Issuing Certificates.

The Assessment Centre and EISAs

• The role of the Assessment Centre.

• Clarifying the role of pre-assessment moderation.

Assessment Practices for Learner Success:  Applied Face-to-face and Online

• Preparing the learner for the road ahead;
• Applying formative assessment effectively to enhance facilitation;
• Conducting summative assessments for comprehensive evaluation;
• Providing feedback to enhance the learning process;
• Documenting findings: The Assessment Report and Statement of Results
• Implementing Appeals Procedures
• Understanding Assessment Principles, with special emphasis on confidentiality, learner support & special needs;
• Conducting a successful FISA;
• Preparing your learners the EISA.
