Times they are a-changing
Gosh, sometimes it feels like keeping up with all the QCTO-Seta changes is a full-time job, yes? We couldn’t agree more – and it’s this constantly changing landscape and uncertainty which prompted me to start my QCTO “Friday titbit” email around 6 months ago. This weekly mailer captures our team’s learnings and experiences, along with the latest QCTO qualification and skills programme additions/changes from that particular week.
Perhaps that would assist you too? Sign-up below.
QCTO Friday titbits are just one more way we’re on your side, Thrive Tribe. Please do reach out if we can assist you with any of your QCTO compliance…we have a range of complete or ad-hoc offerings and services to suit any pocket and we’d love to help you too.
Yours in Skills, Andrea

WHAT IS AN “SME”
Confusion reigns when it comes to what an “SME” actually is. An SME (subject matter expert) is someone who has registered themselves as such, with the relevant Seta (or QCTO). This database is then available to the QCTO when they are looking for assistance with SDP evaluations or qualification/skills programme creation within a particular field. It may also happen that this person offers their services as a facilitator-assessor within or to SDPs….but that’s just coincidence. SME registration is NOT the same as the old assessor/moderator registrations that we’re used to.
